Bozzuto The Isle Apartments

Bringing EV Charging to the City of Brotherly Love

Services Provided:
Bozzuto installs Manayunk's first EV chargers—and they're not stopping there!

The Customer

The Isle Apartments is Bozzuto’s luxury residential complex situated on the banks of the Schuylkill river in Philadelphia’s trendy Manayunk neighborhood.

The area’s blend of high-end restaurants, trendy boutiques and outdoor recreation, all wrapped up in an upscale, post-industrial setting, has attracted an eclectic mix of residents.

From environmentally conscious building practices to a “green roof” to the eco-friendly partnerships, every step in the development and growth of the community has been taken with sustainability in mind.

The Challenge

Though the community is positioned in a tech-savvy urban neighborhood, The Isle’s management came to the realization that there were no publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations within a ten-mile radius.

Always on the lookout for opportunities to set the community apart from others, The Isle’s management saw installing EV chargers as yet another way to continue to ensure the property is a “one-stop shop” for all of its residents.

Already a pillar of eco-friendly practices, three-time EnergyStar Partner of the Year Bozzuto decided to take the lead in bringing Manayunk into the 21st century.

The Solution

Bozzuto was referred to American Energy Services through a partnership with ChargePoint, for which AES is the preferred EV charger installer and service provider in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The chargers were placed front and center in the community’s parking lot, occupying spaces devoted to Electric Vehicles. Due to the flexibility of ChargePoint’s interface, Bozzuto was able to offer The Isle’s residents free EV charging, while also opening the stations to the public for a fee. This was all made possible through the ChargePoint cloud-based services.

The Results

Through installing the Manayunk neighborhood’s very first EV chargers, Bozzuto opened up the conversation on a community level.

The Manayunk Development Corporation, the community’s business improvement group, is now in talks with AES to install even more publicly accessible EV chargers throughout the neighborhood. The AES team is excited to be actively involved in this venture!
